The story of the record
Enemy Solo brought together two of Africa's most recognisable acts: Awilo Longomba and Nigerian duo P-Square.
The result sits exactly between their worlds — Congolese rhythm and guitar underneath, Nigerian Afropop melody and English hooks on top — and it introduced Awilo to a large West African audience at the moment Afrobeats was going global.
Collaborations like this one are a thread through his later career: rather than defend his own lane, he keeps inviting the next generation into it.
